Not long to go now until the WWF charity Earth Hour 2012, kicking off this Saturday 31st March 2012 at 8.30pm. This global event will see hundreds of millions of people, businesses and governments turn their lights off for 1 hours around the world to show support to the largest environmental event of the year.
Last year alone, more than 5,00 cities in 135 countries switched their lights off to show their support and send a message for action on climate change. With this many people taking part across the globe, it truly does show how people really can come together for a common cause.
First starting in Sydney Australia in 2007, some 2.2 million individual turned their lights out for one hour to take a stand against climate change – last year saw HUNDREDS of millions take part!
Will you be joining in this Saturday?
