Refuge & Avon have joined forces to help raise awareness about domestic abuse. Statistics show one in four women will be affected by some form of domestic violence at some point in their lives, and other startling statistics include –
- 30 women attempt suicide every day in the UK as a result of domestic abuse
- The police receive one domestic violence call per minute
- Only 16% of women report abuse
Refuge & Avon have created an interesting Facebook application Against Domestic Violence that analyses your female ‘friends’ and speculates how many of them are likely to be affected at some point in their lives.
