Amnesty International is asking you to sign their petition to Prime Minister David Cameron, to ask the UK Government to commit to an Arms Trade Treaty that will go a long way to saving lives.
World leaders will be meeting up in July 2012 to draw up the first ever treaty aimed at controlling the trade of arms. This treaty could save thousands of lives across the globe, and with you help, the British government should be at the forefront of the meeting. The Arms Trade Treaty will succeed if it stops guns from being transferred to areas where they will be used is to commit atrocities, fuelling poverty.
As one of the main players, David Cameron needs to commit to the Arms Trade Treaty and stand up for the people who could lose their lives in the future. By signing the petition, you will be asking the Prime Minister not to compromise on human rights. In Iraq, thousands of people were killed under Saddam Hussein by weapons sold by companies based in the UK and USA. These weapons were sold to him even though the nature of his usage was known. This needs to stop.
Click on the link below to sign the petition today, I just have and it literally takes less than 30 seconds. Together we can save thousands of lives.
