The NSPCC charity will be showing their support to the brand new British film – The Kid. Directed by Nick Moran of Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels fame, the film tells the tale of Kevin – a young man from a troubled upbringing, and how he comes to terms with his life experiences. The story itself is split into three different stages of Kevin’s life, with three different actors charting his journey in the lead role.
The stars were out in force at Leicester Square for the premiere, with NSPCC children’s charity ambassador Kylie Minogue giving an introductory speech about the importance of the film. Alongside Kylie, Nick Moran and writer Kevin Lewis explained how the film was made and the challenges they faced in production.
Thanks to public donations, the NSPCC offer a free child helpline that is available 24 hours a day to help those who are suffering from abuse. Their experienced advisors endeavour to help every call that is made, and provide support and advice on the best course of action to take.
