The RSPB charity are asking you to help the UK’s birds this winter by providing a clean place for them to feed in your garden. At a time when food is scarce, now is a great time to start planning how you can help out our feathered friends, as the long winter months draw ever closer.
- Scrub bird feeders and tables with hot water
- Refill your water every day with fresh supplies
- Avoid feeding birds uncooked rice, chicken fat or bread
- Provide healthy foods such as fruit, nuts, berries and insects.
- Allow dead wood to lie and leave spent foliage and seed heads
