Christian Aid Week is a fantastic way of bringing global issues to life with your work collegues, family, friends and classmates. There are many ways to raise money, and it’s amazing what people will do, especially when it’s for a good cause.
You could hold a casual clothes day at your work, or invite work colleagues to pay to gunge the boss (something I’m definately considering!) Or why not hold a sponsored football or netball tournament at your school? You could even get the whole community involved and organise a music festival and ask local bands to play.
Or why not host a quiz? Last year was a first for ‘Quizaid’, and a remarkable £185,000 was raised for Christian Aid, with this year target set at £225,000. You could put on the quiz at home or in your local pub, plus there’s even a Quizaid question pack bursting with hints and tips on how to make sure you get the most fun out of your event.
Also at 1pm on Sunday 17th May 2009, Christian Aid will be holding a sponsored walk around the City of London. The walk is approximately six miles and will take in some of the most historic churches many of which were built by Sir Christopher Wren. The walk also take in many other famous sights such as the Tower of London and St Paul’s Cathedral.
So why not join the fun on Christian Aid Week and help raise funds and awareness for people in desperate need of your help.
