Happy Birthday to Donation4Charity (D4C) – and Well Done to You!

A Happy (belated) Birthday to D4C!  On 1st February 2007 D4C celebrated its first birthday and we’d like to say a big thank-you to everyone who has supported D4C over the past year.

One of the main aims for D4C was to provide a single point of reference, where our charity partners could communicate with potential charity donors and encourage them to support their various causes – by setting up online charity donations and purchasing charity gifts.

We’re extremely pleased and proud to say that this has been a resounding success!  All of the donations set up via the D4C website and charity gifts purchased through it are tracked – so we are able to obtain comprehensive feedback on its performance from the charities we help to promote.

In total our community has set up 7,434 new monthly direct debit donations to date – so massive congratulations to everyone who has contributed to this figure.  The minimum monthly donation for many charities is £2.50 per month (many require a much higher donation) so a very conservative estimate based on 12 months x £2.50 per direct debit donor would be over £223,020 raised to date.

Additionally your charity gifts, purchased through D4C and it’s sister site Charity Gifts, has resulted in 2,132 individual sales made to date – raising an impressive £62,791.93.

With your help, our aim is to reach the £1,000,000 mark by the end of this calendar year through combined gift purchases and direct debit donations set up.  So keep up the good work and once again a big thank-you on behalf of all of our charity partners.

D4C will be making a donation of £100 each to NSPCC, Cancer Research UK and Red Nose Day this month – based on receiving 298 new subscribers to our charity newsletter during February and March to date (we said we’d donate a £1 for each new user but have rounded this up to £300).  Please keep on adding your names and emails as we will be making further donations at the end of April and the more people that sign up, the more D4C give to charity.

For anyone interested in which charities were the biggest beneficiaries of your generosity to date, here’s a breakdown of your favourite charities according to the number of users setting up a monthly direct debit donation:-

1. WWF

2. NSPCC

3. RSPB

4. Cancer Research UK

5. World Vision
