Director of Fundraising at the British Red Cross, Mark Astarita, said –
It’s great to have this category of award, which highlights the importance of long-term support from businesses to charities, and we are delighted that our partnership with Land Rover has won. Land Rover has made a long term, strategic commitment to the Red Cross, and it’s been brilliant to see the whole of their business get behind the partnership.
Their support varies from financial and vehicle assistance, to lending us their business expertise, to mobilising their employees and customers to support us. This enables us to plan and implement sustainable humanitarian programmes, which deliver real and lasting change for people affected by crises. It’s great to see this sector-leading partnership receive the recognition it deserves.
The global initiative between Land Rover and the British Red Cross helps provide much needed support in 15 countries worldwide and community programmes in China and Sierra Leone. Land Rover have been supplying vehicles to the British Red Cross since 1954, and long may it continue if it carries on being the overwhelming success story that it is today.
