The UNICEF charity sporting event, Soccer Aid, is returning on Sunday 6th June 2010 at the The Theatre of Dreams, Old Trafford. Personally I’d prefer to make the pilgrimage to Manchester to watch Rooney rather than Robbie Williams play football, but that’s just my preference! Two equally star studded squads of footballing legends and celebrities from England and the Rest of the World will once again be competing in aid of UNICEF, with the match being broadcast live on ITV1.
The brainchild of both Robbie Williams and UNICEF, this year’s event will be hosted by X Factor presenter Dermot O’Leary, who I’m pretty sure won’t be calling all the competitors ‘hun’ as he seems to do in the hit talent competition! A whole host of footballing greats such as Alan Shearer, Teddy Sheringham and Henrik Larsson have already been confirmed, alongside their celebrity counterparts including Gordon Ramsay, Bradley Walsh and Westlife.
Soccer Aid 2010 will see the teams do battle on Sunday 6th June, in what is always a great day out for all the family. With more high profile names expected to be announced in the coming weeks, these tickets will be like gold dust, so grab one while you can. All money raised through ticket sales and viewer donations will go to help UNICEF’s invaluable work helping children around the world.
