Compassion in World Farming’s Chicken Out campaign is for people who believe that chickens deserve a free range life and should not be couped up in battery farms. More and more people across the globe are choosing free range eggs, with sales up by 35% on last year alone.
The Chicken Out campaign has now attracted over 166,000 supporters, and thanks to the lobbying of MP’s and supermarkets, plus spreading the word to family and friends, the possibility of a free range future is slowly becoming reality.
Thanks to the tireless campaigning of Compassion in World Farming –
- MPs have supported a parliamentary motion to improve standards
- The introduction of clearer labelling on chicken
- More retailers are promoting free range food
Chicken Out are looking to raise £100,000 to help give ALL chickens a free-range life. Despite the ongoing work, only 10% of chickens reared in the UK are free range, with the other 90% living their lives in dark cramped conditions. If more consumers knew the truth about intensive farming it may lead to more compassionate shopping.
By making a one off donation to Compassion in World Farming’s Chicken Out campaign, you will be providing funds to help tackle the big supermarkets, whilst also taking the fight to end the cruelty of intensive chicken farming to both Westminster and Brussels. Or if you feel strongly commited to the cause, you could make a small monthly donation to help maintain constant pressure on the food industry and policy makers.
